I’m a participatory artist working with the felt sense, our relationship to the natural world and our bodies.

I work across contemporary art and health (link arts for health) and produce projects based on how we might experience the world via our senses. I usually have a focus, currently that is touch, the cultivation or retrieval of our sensitivities and intimacy with nature (link workshops). I’ve also created projects around pain, smiles and empathy. (Link these to projects). I make work to help me make sense of the world, gain more intimacy with it, to feel safe, and then cultivate that sense of safety and curiosity for others.

About me

I have over 20 years of experience as an artist, museum educator, teacher and community worker and have worked with people with dementia (link) for 6 years. The workshops and experiences I make for audiences and community groups often have a drawing focus but most recently I created a live art piece (link) including eating, ferment making, performance improvisation and free writing.

Over the last 18 months I’ve been studying Somatics (a focus on the body and how our physiology impacts the felt sense) (LinkedIn link?) and have begun training as a Somatic Experiencing therapist this year. I embed these practises into projects to help people drop more deeply into themselves, nature and the experiences I create.
